Mindful Birthing Childbirth Classes

You've done the research. You've got the app, maybe a spreadsheet, a birth playlist half made. And somewhere underneath all that planning, there's a knot of fear you can't quite think your way out of.

You are not the only one. Most walk in feeling exactly like this.

Birth doesn't have to be something that happens to you. It can be something you meet. Breath by breath. Present, prepared, and steady.

  • “We were so thankful to have Betty as part of our birth team! This was our first baby, and we had no idea what to fully expect, but Betty was an amazing calming and knowledgeable force throughout a long and exhausting labor. She helped me navigate surprising turns, kept us informed of our options and helped us make informed decision."

    – Lauren, Izzy, and Baby Hallie

  • "I read a piece online recently about a new mom who was struggling, and it reminded me of how grateful I am for everything that you did for me postpartum with both my children. I’ve been using all the things you’ve taught me and doing really well these days. Both of my “big” boys are doing great-they love having a present mom who is feeling good!”"

  • “She supports deep self reflection and engagement in addressing the true source of my anxieties and helping me find concrete ways to effectively deal with them.”

What is a Mindful Birthing class?

Mindful birthing is childbirth education built on not the what but the HOW of childbirth. It’s the, “how am I going to do this?”

The approach grew out of Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction and was shaped for pregnancy, birth, and early parenting by nurse-midwife Nancy Bardacke.

The class asks for commitment from participants with weekly formal and informal practices. Often times the course helps individuals and couples start working together in a new way.

Labor and birth are temporary and parenting is much longer! The skills don't stop at birth. They carry into those first sleepless weeks, and into the way you parent from here. This class has the potential to help support you in your goals related to intentional parenting.

Why Learn With Me

I'm a certified birth doula, a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, and a certified perinatal mental health provider (PMH-C), with 25 years alongside women in this exact season. Mindfulness and yoga have been part of my own life and practice for years.

I'm also trained to teach the Mindful Birthing (MBCP) method.

That mix matters. I know birth, I know the mind, and I know how to help you stay in your body when things get intense. So this class doesn't just prepare you for contractions. It prepares you for the fear, the noise, and the big feelings that ride along with them.

What You Will Learn

This class gives you two things at once: a clear map of how birth actually works, and the tools to stay grounded while you move through it.
